New Moths Found on 2 September 2007

Forward to 9 September 2007 moth page, back to 15 July 2007 moth page, to general moths page.

The weather and holidays have washed out all of August as far as moth trapping is concerned, but we finally managed to get a first trapping in September.  We achieved a reasonable crop, with many Lesser Yellow Underwing, Large Yellow Underwing, Square-spot Rustic, Light Brown Apple Moth and one each of Orange Swift (female), Setacious Hebrew Character, Garden Carpet, Pinion-streaked Snout, Riband Wave, Marbled Beauty and the absolutely enormous Old Lady.

Others worth photographing were:

Lesser Yellow Underwing Common Marbled Carpet Acleris forsskaleana Brown House Moth Oak Beauty agg. Copper Underwing Agg. Copper Underwing, showing its stripey legs and body
