New Moths Found on 13 July 2008

Forward to 26 July 2008 moth page, back to 6 July 2008 moth page, to general moths page.

Despite the very showery weather Saturday night was dry and warm, hence a good showing of species in the trap though again low in numbers.  Unusually, most represented in the trap was the Dun Bar (previously photographed here), present in even larger numbers than the Common Footman.

Worth photographing were:

Otherwise, there were the usual Uncertain or Vine's Rustics, then largely singletons of Small Emerald, Riband Wave (with and without the dark band), Grey or Dark Dagger, a Common Wainscot, a Least Carpet, a Stenoptilia/Platyptilia, a Scoparia pyrallela, a Light Arches, a Dark Arches, a Pinion-streaked Snout, and our first Large Yellow Underwing of the year.
