New Moths Found on 21 September 2008

An end of season trapping with a few tens of moths in the trap.  Most spectacular was one of a second brood of Burnished Brass, shining in the morning sun.  Most populous were the Setaceous Hebrew Characters.  Otherwise there were the ubiquitous Uncertain or Vine's Rustics, several Oak Beauty Aggs, some Large Yellow Underwings and a new one for us in the form of the Lunar Underwing.  This latter can apparently be confused with the Beaded Chestnut but ours has rounded wing tips and, well, it's not chestnut, so we're sticking to our guns.
