Currywurst Sauce

Note: to be served with bratwurst.

Serves: 6.

Ingredients

• 250 ml tomato ketchup
• 0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  
• 5 tsp medium curry powder
• 2 tsp smoked paprika
• 0.5 tsp salt
• 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper (may be reduced or omitted for a less spicy result)
  
• 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
• a stock cube of your choice
  
• 6 tbsp boiling water

Method

1. Warm the tomato ketchup at a low heat in a small saucepan.
2. Add the bicarbonate of soda and stir well until the ketchup returns to looking like tomato ketchup again.
3. Mix in the other dry ingredients.
4. Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water and add to the saucepan.
5. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce.
   
6. Serve beside bratwurst.
