Moths Found on 14 August 2011

Moth numbers reducing now, despite the continuing warm weather, however the Underwing season has definitely begun: the catch included many Straw Underwings and Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings, plus a few Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings.  Those from the catch worth photographing included:

The rest of the catch consisted of a couple of Oak Beauty agg, several Uncertain or Vine's Rustics, Shuttle-shaped Darts, Pinion-streaked Snouts, Stenoptilia/Platyptilia and Scoparia Pyralella, then one each of Setacious Hebrew Character, Endotricha flammealis and Apple Pith Moth.
