New Moths Found on 16 July 2006

Hot again, with a reasonably crowded trap.  Most populous was an infestation of Endotricha flammealis, Large Nutmeg and Common Footmen.  A Poplar Hawk-moth and a Small Emerald were hiding in the undergrowth beside the trap.

 

The only ones worth photographing in the trap were: a Silver Y, which we haven't seen since 2004. a Dwarf Cream Wave, which we've not come across before at all (thanks to brianhstone for confirming the ID). Others in the trap were: several  Bright-line Brown-eyes, Dot Moths and Riband Waves, some Heart & Darts, Shuttle-shaped Darts, Common Quakers, and Double Square-spots, one each of the Sycamore, Dagger, Light Arches, The Clay, Large Yellow Underwing, Dun Bar, Least Carpet, Pinion-streaked Snout, Agapeta Hamana and Large Fruit-tree Tortrix.
